Play is important. It’s especially important for adults as it’s hard to find the time to create, be silly and listen to our intuition in our daily lives.
This workshop will add some “whimsy” to your week and will allow room for free play and exploration with various creative tools (paint, crayons, collage, googly eyes, hula hoops, bubbles, sand and more). The workshop will begin with reflection and mindfulness and end with creative goal-setting.
Artscape is proud to announce the Fall/Winter edition of Business Skills for Growth, its popular workshop series for independent artists and creative entrepreneurs, presented by experts across a range of business disciplines. The latest batch of Business Skills for Growth workshops include over 50 opportunities for people working on building their creative businesses, all taking place at Artscape Youngplace between October 2014 and March 2015. Take one or take them all!
The Fall/Winter series kicks off on October 20 with workshop “Co-operatives for Arts & Culture,” a two-hour primer in the co-op business model. Anyone wanting to know more about how to set up a co-op, or how co-ops work, will want to check this out. It’s being presented by Peter Cameron, a true expert in the subject, and Co-operative Development Manager with the Ontario Co-operative Association. Only $35, it’s a perfect way to figure out if the co-op model is right for your venture.
Also in October, we’ve got “Branding for Arts & Cultural Organizations,” presented by Shelley Black on the 26th. Don’t miss this workshop if your objective is to present your business in the best possible light. Shelley Black, an expert consultant, will give you all the tools you need to make your brand presence sing in a 5.5 hour in-depth workshop. Independent artists as well as arts organizations are welcome to this wide-ranging discussion.

What if hundreds of people united, each putting in place the changes they wish to see in their city, all on the same day?
On Saturday, June 7th, 2014, 100 in 1 Day is coming to Toronto, and we invite you to participate! This festival of citizen-driven action provides a platform for people to showcase their ideas for a better city in the collective launch of over one hundred acts of change, or urban interventions.
These interventions encourage Torontonians to make our city a better place to live by establishing connections with one another, through small improvements in our neighbourhoods and communities, and profiling that citizens can be part of the solution.
Develop your idea to improve the city, meet people and learn how you can participate on June 7th at this free workshop. Register at http://www.eventbrite.ca/e/100-in-1-day-toronto-workshop-tickets-10858418823
