Since 2000, Andrea Cohen and Wiska Radkiewicz have been co-directors of the Soundson Project, an experimental web-based approach to audio sharing and collaborative sound composition. Now you can learn the basics of recording and editing sound to make an original collaborative composition in this four hour sound art intensive with the artists!
We’ll start at the project space (Rm. 302) with a brief introduction to Cohen and Radkiewicz’s work in the Of Other Faces exhibition, then proceed down to the workshop space in Flex Studio Silver on the first floor (Rm. 106). Please arrive on time as the project space will be closed after the introduction. Stay in the workshop space as long as you like until 5 pm.
Event is free to attend and geared toward adults and kids 11+ with their caregivers.
Space is limited; please RSVP by Wednesday, September 17th to info (at) typology (dot) ca to reserve a spot.
Participants will be asked to come with some field recordings (instructions to be provided when you RSVP) and will need to bring their own laptop running Audacity free sound editing software (download here) and a pair of headphones.
