Koffler Salon: Memory and Architecture

March 21, 2016 @ 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm

In conjunction with the Ontario Jewish Archives’ current exhibition ‘Benjamin Brown: Architect’ (at Urbanspace Gallery until April 23, 2016), Shelley Hornstein (professor, Architectural History & Visual Culture at York University), Daniel Rotsztain (urban geographer/artist) and Maggie Hutcheson (community-engaged artist, educator and consultant) will share their insights on the intersections of memory, urban sites and architecture in Toronto. With host Nick Hutcheson.

We’ll also screen an 8-minute documentary, exploring contemporary perspectives on Benjamin Brown’s buildings, and how they stand as testaments to the past, while re-purposed for today.

With special live music from singer/songwriter Rebecca Campbell.

Enjoy special evening access to the Koffler Gallery – an opportunity to check out the critically acclaimed exhibition Howard Podeswa: A Brief History.

Schedule
7 PM: Koffler Gallery doors open (wine/beer – cash bar)
