This course will equip students with the knowledge and basic skills for creating and maintaining their own digital art publication. Through lectures and in-class exercises, students will explore all aspects of digital art publishing in Canada, including the industry’s recent history, potential staffing and editorial structures, distribution models, contracts and legalities, marketing strategies and funding opportunities. Students will also gain practical skills for creating their publication through a series of technical demonstrations, including setting up and customizing a blog, designing an interactive PDF and creating HTML e-mails and newsletters through online applications. Through peer feedback and guidance from the Instructor, students will also develop a viable business plan for their publication which they will present to the class in the final session.
