An event every week that begins at 1:30 pm on Friday, repeating until December 9, 2016
This 2 1/2 hour workshop will combine a variety of yoga practices and engaging creative exercises. It is designed to open new pathways to innovative thought processes and break down the walls we build for ourselves. Each session will begin with a yoga class that will be an amalgam of various styles of yoga (Ashtanga, Hatha, Yin, Restorative) depending on what creative aspect we will focus on that week. Janet will work with breath, mindful movement, strength, balance and the chakra system to generate feelings of well-being, calm and focus. All the better to attack a project with renewed vigor and inspiration.
Following this Andreah will explore the things that inspire us, how collaboration can open new doors, and the fears that block us. Group and individual exercises followed by discussion and journaling will provide each member with the tools to continue their work once they get home. Her inspiration comes from the work of Julia Cameron, Twyla Tharp, Chris Crickmay & Miranda Tufnell, and Dr. Suess.
Each participant will be asked to bring one project, whether it be currently in progress or an idea of something new, that they’d like to work on. Projects can be anything that needs some creative attention, like a short story, poem, drawing, novel, painting, play, marketing campaign, photo exhibit, event plan for a special occasion, workshop plan, or a even new recipe. Almost everything we do in life needs a creative touch and Creative Stretch can help unleash the innovative creator in everyone.
