Artscape’s Supporters Headed Back to School at Our Annual Fundraiser, Extravaganza

On Thursday, November 12th, Artscape Extravaganza took shape at the Artscape Youngplace. Over 350 prominent stakeholders headed back to school chaperone-free for a night of creative learning. Guests were ushered into their immersive “back to school” experience, complete with printed class schedules and a designated homeroom. More than a dozen artists, curators and creators like Harley Valentine, Robin Goodfellow of Bar Raval, Sarah Munro of the Koffler Centre of the Arts, Kingi Carpenter of Peach Berserk, Deejay L’Oquenz, Herbie Barnes and Zeesy Powers led intimate hands-on classes. Guests got to sample a fun curriculum that ranged from dancing to beatboxing, life drawing to deejaying, as well as mixology, glee club and more.

The night culminated in a loud and properly raucous “school assembly.” Emceed by performance artist Kaleb Robertson (acting as the nerdy School Principal), the assembly featured stellar performances by the Larchaud Dance Project and a sneak preview of Metallurgy, Tapestry Opera’s latest collaboration featuring members of F*cked Up, which brought everyone out on the dance floor.

We collected images of Instagram party revelers who took some amazing shots of all the action!
